The university hosted two workshops organized by the Saudi Cloud Developer Community, which aim to spread digital knowledge among the technical community and qualify trainers who are specialized in Google technology. The workshops were presented by a number of professionals and experts from Google. The program is being held in five regions around the Kingdom in Dammam, Riyadh, Abha, Jeddah and Madinah.
The program is sponsored by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), represented by the Digital Giving Initiative, which seeks to spread digital knowledge in Arab societies around the world in light of the huge technological development that is taking place in the world and the increasing need for technology which has become vital to everyday life.
According to Mr. Abdulaziz Al Hammadi, Supervisor of the Program, the number of attendees on the first day of the workshops was 350. The workshop started with Eng. Abdulrahman Omran, Google by discussing how Google Company is offering workshops for trainers that revolve around future technologies, and how this initiative is a great chance to train Saudi tech forces internally without the need to move from their workplace.
Eng. Ahmed Abu Aldahab, Smartphone Application Developer for Google, said that the second Workshop aims to train and prepare participants on how to deal with and properly develop all smartphone applications through the technology of filters, which is offered by Google.
