Al Yamamah University Organizes a Specialized Workshop on Sustainability in Saudi Companies and Institutions

As part of its ongoing series of workshops on sustainability, Al Yamamah University hosted a workshop titled:
“Sustainability in Saudi Institutions and Companies: Pathways, Challenges, and Prospects,” with the participation of a distinguished group of specialists and stakeholders in the fields of sustainability and sustainable development.
The workshop opened with a session presented by Dr. Turki Al-Aqeel from the Ministry of Energy, titled “National Sustainability Imperative.” He discussed the national directions in the field of sustainability and highlighted the role of the energy sector in supporting sustainable transformation and achieving the Kingdom’s ambitious goals in this area.
Ms. Yara Sindi from the Ministry of Economy and Planning delivered a speech titled “Policy & Governance,” where she emphasized the importance of policies and governance in advancing the national sustainability agenda and underscored the role of institutional integration in achieving national sustainable development goals.
In a presentation titled “Deep Dive into Sustainability,” Dr. Samir Trabelsi from Brock University and Chairman of the Board at GIGS, addressed the importance of embedding principles of governance and transparency within organizational cultures to ensure effective and long-term sustainability.
The workshop also featured a panel discussion titled “Organizational Actions and Innovation: Towards a Sustainable Transformation in the Business Sector,” where participants discussed innovative initiatives and practices adopted by organizations to achieve sustainable transformation. This workshop reflects Al Yamamah University’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness of sustainability issues and to empower students and stakeholders with knowledge of the latest trends and practices in this vital field, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 to build a sustainable and balanced economy.
