Develop entrepreneurial-minded accounting leaders and professionals who contribute to the advancement of the accounting profession, create growth and opportunities for their organizations, and serve their communities.

The Accounting Program Learning Goals/Attributes

  • Graduates will have a broad theoretical understanding of accounting theories and concepts.
  • Graduates of the program will be able to apply accounting theories, concepts, and their applications in a real-life decision-making setting.
  • Graduates of the accounting program will be able to operate effectively in a variety of team roles and take leadership roles, where appropriate.
  • Graduates will effectively express their thoughts and ideas in both verbal and written forms.
  • Graduates will develop diverse accounting careers of the highest integrity and ethics.

Accounting Program Learning Objectives

PLG 1: Accounting Knowledge:

  • PLO 1: Graduates will have a broad understanding of accounting theories, concepts, and technical accounting skills (Knowledge).
  • PLO 2: Graduates will have a solid background in accounting standards, professional ethics, and regulatory environment (Knowledge).

 

PLG 2: Application of Accounting Knowledge:

  • PLO 3: Graduates will have the ability to apply knowledge, theories, and principles to real-life scenarios (Skills).
  • PLO 4: Graduates will develop the ability to analyze information including professional accounting standards and conceptual framework for decision-making, both locally and internationally (Skills).
