Dr. Nora Nasser AboShareb

Biography:

Dr. Nora AboShareb is an Assistant Professor of Law, Vice Dean of the College of Law, and Chair of the French Accreditation Committee (HCERES) at Al Yamamah University.

Her academic work bridges legal theory and practice, with a particular focus on aligning Saudi legal education with international accreditation standards and market needs. In her leadership role, she oversees academic coordination, institutional self-evaluation, and compliance with international accreditation requirements for the College of Law programs.

Prior to joining Al Yamamah University, she served for five years as a Legal Advisor at the Ministry of Justice in Saudi Arabia, working within the International Cooperation and International Media Departments. She also worked as an academic at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom and has held part-time Assistant Professor positions at several universities.

Dr. AboShareb holds a PhD in Law from the University of Sheffield, as well as LLM and LLB degrees from King Saud University, reflecting a strong academic foundation in commercial and corporate law.

Her teaching and research interests include Company Law, Capital Market Law, International Trade Law, Commercial Papers, Bankruptcy Law, Maritime Law, Commercial Contracts, and Arbitration. Her teaching approach emphasizes applied legal reasoning and the integration of statutory analysis with practical legal contexts.

Her research has been published in peer-reviewed outlets, including Corporate Social Responsibility in Saudi Arabia: Legal Challenges and Regulatory Framework (Arab Journal for Scientific Publishing), and Corporate Social Responsibility in Law and Practice: Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom (2023), a published doctoral thesis available through the White Rose Repository.

She was formerly a member of the Centre for Corporate Governance at the University of Sheffield and served on a voluntary basis as a Peer Review Editor for three years.
