I’m so excited to welcome you to the very first issue of our Alumni Association newsletter—a space created just for you to stay connected, share your stories, and celebrate all that we’ve accomplished together.

My journey began with a simple goal: to use education as a steppingstone to real-world impact. After high school, I enrolled in a financial management diploma program and later pursued a bachelor’s degree in the same field at Al Yamamah University, graduating in 2014. But what really set the course for my career wasn’t just my studies—it was my time as the President of the Fun Club at YU.

In my role as General Manager of Partnerships Management and Delivery at the Ministry of Culture, I am privileged to be at the forefront of a dynamic transformation—one that is reshaping Saudi Arabia’s cultural landscape and positioning it as a key pillar of national development.

Exactly one year ago, I walked away from a prestigious job—the kind of job everyone dreams of.

My career journey in EdTech has been a path of discovery, impact, and continuous learning—one that started in Riyadh and has now brought me to Amman, Jordan, where I proudly serve as Senior Product Owner at Classera, a leading EdTech company transforming education through SaaS innovation.

In January 2023, I began my professional journey with Golf Saudi as a Co-op Trainee in the Project Management Department. This six-month experience provided invaluable exposure to the organization’s mission and operations. Shortly thereafter, I transitioned into a full time role within the Project Management Office.

With deep sorrow, we mourn the sudden passing of Mohammed Abdullah Bin Askar, a proud graduate of Al Yamamah University, Class of 2023 (Marketing).

As part of Al Yamamah University’s 20th anniversary celebrations, a special gathering was held to honor Dr. Ahmed Aleisa, the founding president of the university and former Minister of Education. Alumni from the very first cohort (Class of 2009) returned to campus to welcome Dr. Aleisa and celebrate the initiation of the Dr. Ahmed Aleisa Hall, named in recognition of his visionary leadership and pivotal role in establishing and shaping Al Yamamah University.

As I stood among the alumni of the Class of 2009—our very first graduating cohort—during the celebration of Al Yamamah University’s 20th anniversary, I was overcome with a deep sense of pride and gratitude. These were students I had taught, mentored, and worked alongside in campus activities, now returning as accomplished professionals and leaders across key sectors in the Kingdom.
