Biography:
Mrs. Ohoud Albatati is a lecturer in General Chemistry and Biochemistry with a strong academic and professional background in higher education and scientific research. She earned her Master’s degree in General Chemistry from The Australian National University, Canberra, Australia (2010–2012), following the completion of the Postgraduate Preparation Program (PPP) at The Australian National University Language Institute (2009–2010). She obtained her Bachelor of Science in General Chemistry from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (2001–2004).
In addition to her specialization in chemistry, Albatati earned a University Teaching Certificate (2024), demonstrating her commitment to innovative teaching practices and student-centered learning in higher education. She has also contributed research in the field of academic advising and student guidance, reflecting her interest in holistic student development and the enhancement of learning environments.
Albatati has actively engaged in numerous professional development programs, workshops, and international conferences. Key highlights include the Accreditation Orientation Training (2022), participation as a delegate in the 7th International Chemistry Conference (2018), and attendance at the specialized workshop “The Management of Chemicals in Education Laboratories.” She has also completed workshops on Publishing Skills (2018), Assessment of Learning Outcomes (2018), and Affective Learning in Chemistry (2016). Earlier in her career, she participated in the 19th International Conference on Organic Synthesis in conjunction with the 24th Royal Australian Chemistry Institute Organic Conference (2012).
Her teaching and research interests focus on organic chemistry, biochemistry, chemistry education, laboratory safety, innovative pedagogical approaches, and academic advising. With a strong dedication to academic excellence and student development, Ohoud Albatati continues to contribute to the advancement of chemistry education and higher education practices in Saudi Arabia and beyond
