Dr. Neef AlWadani

Chair of Accounting Department & Assistant Professor of Accounting

Biography:

Dr. Neef Alwadani is the Chair of the Accounting Department at Al Yamamah University, where he also leads the Accounting Council and serves as a member of the College of Business Council. Since 2025, he has also been a member of the College of Business Strategic Planning Committee.

Before joining Al Yamamah University, Dr. Alwadani held several leadership roles, including three years as Vice Dean of Academic Affairs and Assistant Professor of Accounting at the College of Business Administration, Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University. In these roles, he oversaw curriculum development, accreditation processes, and faculty development initiatives, making significant contributions to academic excellence and institutional advancement.

An experienced educator, Dr. Alwadani teaches tax and zakat, auditing and assurance, internal auditing, and financial accounting at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a particular focus on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Dr. Alwadani began his professional career in the private sector as Accounting Supervisor at Dallah Hospital, where he managed budgeting and financial reporting. He later gained international exposure as an Auditor and Tax Specialist at USA Income Tax Professionals (2014), and served as a Consultant with the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) for three years. Among his notable contributions, he helped draft proposals for executive financial regulations for universities, served as Vice Chair of the Accrual Accounting Committee at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University to support the national transition from cash to accrual-based accounting, and chaired a committee tasked with documenting and listing university assets.

Dr. Alwadani earned his PhD in Accounting from the University of Portsmouth (2018) and a master’s in accounting from Cleveland State University (2014). His research interests include corporate governance, sustainability reporting, external auditing, and financial reporting.
