Al Yamamah University Organizes “The Saudi Industrial Renaissance” Forum

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Al Yamamah Forum 2023 was organized on March 19-20 at Al-Yamamah University in Riyadh. The forum aims to focus on the vital role that industry plays in the development and diversification of the national economy, with the participation of speakers, experts and interested specialists in discussion sessions and research papers on many topics.
The forum was opened in the presence of H.E Eng. Osama bin Abdulaziz Al-Zamil, Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Joseph Rank, CEO of Lockheed Martin Saudi Arabia, Eng. Muhammad bin Saud Al-Suwailem, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Services, and Mr. Faisal Sultan, Vice President, and Managing Director of the company. Lucid in the Middle East, and Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Mohsen Al Abdul Karim, Executive Director of the Saudi Logistics Academy, and Eng. Noor Bint Hassan Shabib, Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development at the Saudi Industrial Development Fund.
The forum opened with a speech by Prof. Dr. Hussam Ramadan, President of the University, where he indicated in his speech that the choice of industry as a focus for the University Forum this year comes from the importance of this vital sector in building the future and achieving the goals of the vision in diversifying sources of income and building strong state bases and a strong national economy.
After that, the first session began, moderated by Ms. Nadine Hani, in a direct dialogue with His Excellency Eng. Osama bin Abdulaziz Al-Zamil, Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, in a talk entitled: “Ghazi Al-Qusaibi: The History of Saudi Industrial Development.”
The forum included several axes dealing with the localization of promising industries to achieve sustainable development, the role of industrial cities and technology zones in providing an attractive environment for investment, the logistics services industry to support developmental economic activity, the renewable energy industry to achieve environmentally friendly sustainable development, the localization of military industries and its impact on the development and diversification of the national economy. .
