Dr. Fayyaz Khan

Assistant Professor of Management

Biography:

Fayyaz Khan is an Assistant Professor in the College of Business at Al Yamamah University, where he teaches Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, and Quantitative Methods for Business across the MBA and Executive MBA programmes. He earned his PhD from the University of Sydney Business School (Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies), where his doctoral research examined how decision-makers and consumers evaluate trade-offs under risk and uncertainty in transport, logistics, and last-mile delivery contexts, using discrete choice modelling and stated preference experiments.

His current research spans behavioural operations management, human–AI collaboration in supply chains, trust calibration in algorithmic decision support, and contamination psychology in circular economy supply chains. He combines rigorous experimental and quantitative methods with extensive industry consulting experience. At Kantar Insights Australia he served as Senior Client Manager, Analytics, building marketing mix and econometric models and translating their outputs into business strategy, and at KPMG Australia he worked as a Senior Consultant, delivering economic feasibility studies and operational modelling for large-scale infrastructure projects. Earlier, as a researcher at the University of Sydney, he contributed to projects on consumer preferences, travel behaviour, and innovation in logistics.

His methodological expertise spans discrete choice analysis, experimental design, demand forecasting, econometrics, and data visualisation, with particular strengths in behavioural experiments and predictive analytics. His work has been published in leading international journals, and he regularly presents at major academic conferences. At Al Yamamah he also contributes to programme development and accreditation, including the Master of Supply Chain Management. He is passionate about connecting rigorous research with practical business applications, equipping students with both analytical skills and real-world insight.
