Lamia Barakat

Biography
Lamia Barakat is an English Language Instructor at INTERLINK Institutes at Al Yamamah University. Prior to working at YU, Lamia was working as an Assistant Professor at Marlboro College, USA.
She also worked as an English Language Instructor at Cairo University Center for Foreign Language and Translation Specialist, Egypt.
Ms. Lamia holds a master’s degree in Teaching for Social Justice, Marlboro College, Vermont, USA. She also holds additional ELT qualifications like Cambridge CELTA, Teaching English for Academic Purposes from the University of Cambridge and an Advanced TEFL diploma from Notting Hill College, UK.
Ms. Lamia has completed her BA degree in English Language and Literature from Cairo University.
She has been awarded a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) scholarship, sponsored by the United States Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
Ever since she started her teaching career, she has been passionate about her commitment to three things: maximizing individual student performance, inspiring students’ interest in technology, and instilling a sense of self-worth among all students.
