INTERLINK prepares students for English-medium classes and academic studies at Al Yamamah and at universities in the Kingdom and abroad. The program helps students develop their English language skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, research, presentation, time management, critical thinking and much more. It consists of three Community English Language Program (CELP) courses and five Orientation Courses (ORN). Each level lasts eight weeks. Courses are offered five days a week for four hours a day.
English Orientation Programs
Community English Language Program (CELP)
CELP is designed to develop student literacy in English, building a solid, basic language foundation. Students who complete CELP can write paragraphs which narrate and describe, and demonstrate minimal conversational skills focused on daily topics.
Orientation Program (ORN)
The Foundation Program, referred to as the Orientation Program, serves as a preparation program for academic studies. By the end of the Orientation Program, students will be able to: read, analyze, and discuss academic papers; write cohesive essays and research papers; make advanced academic presentations; and persuasively speak in debates and speeches based on solid, academic research. Each eight-week level includes classes in Reading/Writing skills and Communication Skills, taught in blocks of two hours each day. Courses in each level are held for four hours a day, five days a week.
