The Deputy Minister of Justice Opens Al Yamamah University Law Forum 2020

Sheikh Saad bin Mohammed Alsaif, Saudi Deputy Minister of Justice opened YULAW2020, which was organized by the university in partnership with the Ministry of Justice. The opening of the two-days forum, which was held under the title “The Role of Law in Achieving the Goals of Vision 2030”, was attended by Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, Advisor to the Royal Court and Imam of Grand Mosque, Mr. Khalid Alkhudair, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Hussam Mohammed Ramadan, President, on 1st March 2020 at Sheikh Mohammed bin Ibrahim Alkhudair Hall.

In his welcoming speech, Prof. Ramadan stated that the organization of the forum comes in fulfillment of the university’s academic role in establishing positive interaction with the public and private sectors. He indicated that the university’s choice of the topic of the forum is based on five main pillars: developing systems to stimulate trade and investment, intellectual property systems and their impact on strengthening the national economy, developing human capabilities in raising the efficiency of judicial services, and the future of the legal profession. Prof. Ramadan added that the forum adopts an expanded discussion and dialogue on the role of law in achieving the goals of Vision 2030, with the participation attendees of the forum.

The program of YULAW2020 included speeches for guest speakers, panel discussions and presentations about the latest research developments in various legal fields, both nationally and internationally, especially with regard to enhancing the investment environment, encouraging the use of technology and protecting intellectual property.

The forum included the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Al Yamamah University and the Saudi Bar Association, represented by Dr. Alaa Abdulhameed Naji, member of the Saudi Bar Association.
