The master of business law program offers prospective students the opportunity to advance their understanding of the law governing commerce and finance at the global and national levels. This program encourages students to discover the fundamental legal framework that helps to deal with the current legal challenges faced in international business. This involves exploring such areas as corporate law, international trade transactions and competition law. In addition, the students will be given the opportunity to discover current issues, such as intellectual property, the legal challenges of foreign investment and business operation.
- Establishing legal knowledge related to business in view of the latest comparative legal systems.
- Enhancing the students’ cognitive abilities to follow the scientific research methods in order to enable the students to be able to study in-depth and to solve the problems associated with legal studies in the fields of law and business.
- Preparation of legal professionals, who are capable of advanced legal studies in the field of business and of meeting the needs of the local and regional labor markets.
LLM Admission Requirements
All applicants for admission to the LLM program at the College of Law are required to have the followings:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Law, Business, or Sharia from an accredited institution recognized by the Ministry of Education (MOE) with a minimum cumulative grade average of “high good”.
- Applicants earned their Bachelor’s degrees from a country where English is not the official language must satisfy, at least, one of the following English proficiency tests (not older than three years from the admission date):
- TOEFL iBT = 60 or above with a minimum score of 55 in all parts
- IELTS = 5:5 or above with a minimum score of 5:0 in all parts
- STEP = 87 or above
- Al Yamamah University’s English Placement Test (EPS) = L7 or above
- Two letters of recommendations from professors who taught you in the past. Alternatively, two letters from managers/supervisors to whom you reported at the workplace in the last five years.
- Updated curriculum vitae (CV)
- Applicants with non- law backgrounds may be required to complete one or two of the Pre-Grad courses (foundation courses).

STEP 2: Submit (scan) the following documents:
- A copy of the original college certificate/diploma
- A copy of the original college transcript of records/student academic records
- English Proficiency Scores: TOEFL, IELTS, STEP
- A copy of the national ID or Iqama
- An updated curriculum vitae (CV)
- Two recommendation letters
STEP 3: The Graduate Admission Office will review all applications. Acceptance letters will be sent to applicants who have been admitted into the graduate programs.
STEP 4: After receiving the acceptance letter, you need to visit YU campus and pay the registration fees to reserve your seat, get your student ID card, and YU email account.
