Dr. Aminah Abdullah

Associate Professor of Accounting

Biography

Dr. Aminah Binti Abdullah is an Associate Professor in Accounting at Al Yamamah University. Prior to joining Al Yamamah University, she was an Associate Professor at Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University (Saudi Arabia), University of Sharjah (UAE), Sohar University (Oman), and the University of Roehampton (UK). She has over 20 years of expertise and leadership in research, teaching and administration which she has acquired by working in higher education institutions and industry in the UK and internationally.

Dr. Aminah’s research interests are in the areas of public sector accountability, governance and performance management, corporate governance, including corporate, social, environmental and sustainability accounting. To date, her research papers have been published in internationally refereed high-quality academic journals such as the British Accounting Review, Accounting and Business Research, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy among others (e.g. ABDC ranked A* and A). Her teaching interests are:

In terms of her academic qualifications, Dr Aminah earned her PhD in Accounting from Royal Holloway, University of London, UK. She is a fellow member (FCCA) of the prestigious international accountancy body, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK. She obtained her MSc in Accounting (Merit) from the University of Essex, UK. In addition, she is also a fellow member of the Higher Education Academy, UK.  Dr Aminah is also a member of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) and the European Accounting Association (EAA). She is also one of the Editorial Advisory Board members of for an International Journal of Public Sector Management journal (Scopus Q1).
