Biography

Dr. Dina Hassan is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Law at Alexandria University, Faculty of law in Egypt (on secondment). In addition, she Served as an Adjunct professor at various universities. In spring 2022, she was an adjunct professor at The British University in Egypt “BUE”, Faculty of Business Administration ( Egypt), where she taught international business law. Since, spring 2019-winter 2022, she was an Adjunct Professor of Law at the German University in Cairo (GUC), Faculty of Law(Egypt). In fall 2019, she taught a criminal law 2 course at The German University in Berlin, Faculty of Law and Legal Studies(Germany).Since fall 2018, Dr. Dina served as an adjunct professor for undergrade legal studies and the predoctoral program at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (Egypt).

Dr. Dina received her LL.B. from the Faculty of Law, Alexandria University, Egypt (2006) with Cumulative grade: “Very Good” and ranked the 9th on the class (Out of 5000 graduates). She obtained a Master of International and Comparative Law from the Faculty of Law and Criminology, Free University of Brussels, Belgium, in 2008, for which she received a full academic scholarship for a Master of Laws from Erasmus Mundus University 2. She holds a Ph.D. in Law from the Faculty of Law, Alexandria University, Egypt, with “A” Average that equivalent to Excellent, April 2018 in the field of Financial Criminal Law.

ACADEMIC AWARDS

  • In 2018, she had been honored for her outstanding scientific achievement in her PhD.
  • Awarded the Erasmus Mundus University 2 Full Academic Scholarship for a Master of Laws (“LL.M.”) Program in International and Comparative Law, at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, (2007–2008).
  • Awarded the Clarke Middle East Fund, Cornell Law School, to cover the tuition fees for the 2007 Cornell Law School-Universite' Paris I Panthe'on-Sorbonne Summer Institute of International and Comparative Law.
  • For her remarkable academic achievements, she has been added to “Dean’s list of Honors” which represents outstanding students, 2003-2006
  • Received Merit Scholarship for all semester for her academic performance, 2003-2006

Criminal Law, Criminal Procedures, Corporate Crimes, White Collar Crimes, Financial Criminal Law, Artificial Intelligence, and cryptocurrency crimes.
