16. Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels.

Universities can play a significant role in advancing SDG 16, “Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions,” through various actions. They can offer programs in peace and conflict studies, human rights, and international law to educate students about the principles of justice and peacebuilding. Through research and scholarship, universities can contribute to the development of effective policies and practices that promote peace, justice, and good governance. Moreover, universities can foster a culture of dialogue, tolerance, and inclusivity by organizing conferences, seminars, and discussions that address conflict resolution and social justice. By collaborating with government agencies, NGOs, and international organizations, universities can actively participate in strengthening institutions at all levels. In these ways, universities can be vital actors in promoting peaceful and inclusive societies and building strong, accountable institutions for sustainable development.
